I think you're good at illustrating darkness and nighttime. That's something I have no idea how to do. I usually just end up tinting and entire picture blue, after I already did the whole thing. :I
I like the black-haired guy's expression a lot. One small critique-- I feel like blondie would be sagging more with his weight due to how straight and tall the black-haired guy is standing. But it doesn't look awkward at all- it was just a thought I had.
Shall I tell you my secret? I pretty much did the same thing. I did the basic colours for the characters as if it were daytime or just "normal" lighting, threw a transparent layer of dark blue over those colours, and then worked from there with the colour scheme. That and at some point I decided there was a streetlight behind them and added those highlights.
But anyway, once I had that chunk of it looking the right colour it was fairly easy to make sure anything I added to it fit, just by trial and error.
I see what you mean, actually--he's hanging from his arms way too much for a guy that's supposedly passed out. Blondie's (which is to say, Sahara's) legs ought to be hiked a bit higher, or rather more bent at the hip. Thanks; I think it's the first time I've drawn this sort of pose, so it still needs a lot of ironing out.
