...to teach his dog a command for 'back up.' He came to regret this over the next few minutes."

(UGH UGH UGH. QUIT LOOKING LIKE SUCH A GIRLIE-MAN, PHYDDAEL. Yes he's named Phyddael. Wanna fight about it? At least the dog's nice, and the image is well-framed, for once. But that freaking GUY. *headdesk*)

Anyway. Original character action, GO! The idea of this guy having a Massive McLargeHuge dog entertains me too much. He names it Andre, and until they meet it people think he's being ironic.

Andre came from a breeder who specialized in Dobermans--but apparently another dog got loose in the kennel at just the wrong time. They're not sure what, but it was big. (In this Andre's a year old, and still growing.) This was a professional breeder, with no use for a mystery-crossbreed, so Phyddael stepped in to give the pup a good home. It payed him back by eating him out of house and home and forcing him to move into a bigger apartment.

And you envy my city-scapes. Veritably panoramic they are. A masterpiece of architectore and perspective.

beautiful dog! Your structure on him is gorgeous.

I think the only thing that threw me off was the boy's legs. I feel like I should see another leg on the other side of the pole. Not a huge deal though.

That is one magnificent specimen of a canine, and I'm not even a dog-person.

While, admittedly, Phyddael is looking a tad effeminate here, I like his expression. (Not that it's so surprising- I really like your expressions. Still.)

And you've introduced yet another character I want to know more about, but you're going to be all mysterious and evasive about it again, right? That seems to happen when your original characters come up. Regardless, they're interesting, even if I know precious little about them.

Thanks! I used a few references--they worked wonders!

The other side of the pole? He does have another leg--on the same side of the pole, and a bit too small--but I'd never considered putting it on the other side. I thought most of the support on that side would be coming from the telephone pole.

It is the best dog I've ever drawn. Which isn't really saying much, since I don't draw animals a lot anymore, but I'm still proud of it.

He is pretty effeminate, is the one thing. I just spent way too long trying to make him look like an effeminate man instead of a girl. My background in anime did not aid me.

Not actually introducing--he showed up earlier in this picture, though I didn't name him there.

Oh... Smiley... that city-scape.

Well, that's pretty much an awesomely awesome dog. It's amazing. Flawless, if you ask me. Not a single thing wrong. Professionally done.

That kid is neat. I like 'im. And his name is cool. Phyddael. He's well drawn too. Of course, his expression is just amazing (you're so good with those) as is the shading (that, too, you're a brilliant shade-r). This is really, really good. :+fav:

Looks good, the boy does not look girly, yust very young, and the dog is fine.

Somehow reminds me at Kaelan, one of my characters. He got a little puppy his hippie girlfriend saved from a lab. At the end doggie looked like a pitbull - a hippo-sized one.
